Playing with best airsoft guns is fun, but friendly fire can and does happen often. In fact, it happens regardless of how many people are playing. The good news is there are a few simple tips that can prevent this from happening. Here’s how to avoid friendly fire when shooting airsoft guns.

  1. Use Good Communication Products – Perhaps the best way to prevent a friendly fire is to use quality communication equipment, such as walkie-talkies with a good range and that have quality sound. This allows you and your teammates to discuss where you are and discuss plans and so forth. Headsets and throat mics are great pieces of equipment you should invest in if you don’t want to be carrying around walkie-talkies. The more you play, and the more you communicate with one another, the less of a chance that friendly fire will occur between you and your teammates.
  2. Wear The Same Uniforms – One of the easiest ways to prevent a friendly fire is to wear the same uniforms, especially bright ones or you can wear colorful armbands if you don’t want to stick out too much. By wearing the same uniform as your teammates, they will know not to fire at you, and you will know not to fire at them too. Maybe invest in bright patches for your uniform and stick them on the back of your helmet, on the back of the uniform and the front because this will allow your teammates to easily tell that you are part of their team and they won’t fire at you.
  3. Pay Close Attention To What You’re Aiming At- You want to be in full control of your muzzle, as this will prevent friendly fire and it will prevent someone from getting hurt. What you want to do is only aim the airsoft gun at a target you intend actually to shoot because this will reduce the chances of shooting it off on impulse. For example, if you automatically point the airsoft gun in the directed you think your opposition is in, you are more likely going to fire off a shot, so it’s better to keep the gun by your side and the only aim when you intend to shoot.
  4. Be Certain Of Your Target- Besides paying close attention to where you are pointing your gun at, you want to be certain of your target because this too will prevent friendly fire. Before you fire off your gun, make sure you have identified your target, as well as what is beyond your target because you don’t want to strike a teammate after firing at your intended target accidentally. You’ll increase your awareness on the playing field too, which will make you a better player.

The above tips are easy enough to implement. They are extremely effective, and you might be surprised at how well they work. With that said, the next time you and friends get together for a game with airsoft guns, you will know how to prevent friendly fire.
